Pulse Privacy Policy

A minimal, private guided breathing app for Android.

Pulse has no accounts, no remote servers, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. Everything Pulse records remains on your device. StillCo does not collect, receive, or sell any personal data.

Data stored on-device only

Pulse keeps the following information locally on your device. None of it is transmitted to StillCo or any third party.

Breathing Session History

  • Start and end time
  • Duration
  • Pattern used
  • Session mode (Solo, Couple, Social, Focus Prep)
  • Optional post-session reflection notes

Focus Session History

  • Start and end time
  • Block and break lengths
  • Completion status
  • Reset usage

Preferences & Settings

  • Selected breathing pattern
  • Visual theme
  • Vibration intensity
  • Session mode
  • Reminder intervals
  • Focus durations
  • Onboarding status
  • Premium status

Usage Purpose

This data is used strictly to execute app functionality and present session history on the local Insights screen. It is never transmitted off the device.

Permissions

Pulse requests only the Android permissions needed for features you choose to use.

Android permissions used by Pulse and why each is required
Permission Purpose / Why Required
POST_NOTIFICATIONS Asked only if reminders are enabled in Settings (Off by default).
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM To trigger breathing reminder notifications at exact user-selected times.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED To re-schedule active breathing reminders after device restarts.
VIBRATE Drives tactile haptic feedback during breathing sessions.
BILLING Enables Google Play to handle the optional Premium purchase.

In-app purchases (Google Play Billing)

Premium is offered via Google Play Billing as a lifetime unlock or a subscription. All transactions are handled directly by Google Play; StillCo never sees or stores payment details.

Entitlements are queried via Google Play and cached locally on your device for offline availability.

Android Auto Backup

If you have Google System Backup enabled on your Android device, Android may back up local app data — including session history and settings — to your personal Google account. StillCo has no access to this backup.

User data controls

In-app Settings → Your Data gives you direct control over what Pulse stores locally.

Export Data

Generates a .json file of all breathing and focus session logs using the native Android share sheet. You choose where the file goes; StillCo never receives it.

Delete Data

Permanently wipes all session history and resets settings locally on your device. Your Premium entitlement remains active via Google Play verification.

Uninstall / Revoke

Uninstalling the app deletes all local storage. You can revoke app permissions at any time in Android System Settings.

Children's privacy & policy updates

Pulse does not knowingly collect data from children under any age.

If we update this policy, the revised version will be published on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
